1 John 2:15–17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the
will of God abides forever.
Sin can be fun, exciting, intriguing, and captivating, but in the end it brings misery, guilt, death, and Judgment. Jesus came to break the power of sin and death bringing New Birth to those who accept Christ’s Sacrifice for their sin and hope for everlasting life with God!
Today we are reviewing how a Child of God, Redeemed by Christ, can continue to live in this world, corrupted to the core by sin and death and not to become a Christian who grows ineffective, inoculated, embedded, and captivated by the power of sin still in our
old flesh which claws for supremacy once again.

Listen: with “Ears to Hear”
“He who has ears, let him hear.”
God wants us to hear His direction in our daily life, through His Word and by His Spirit. The concept of those with ears to hear should hear, is spoken of numerous times
in the Old Testament and some 20 more times in the New Testament, specifically about people being challenged hearing, perceiving, understanding and applying the Truth from God, instead of hearing but letting its Truth and consequences pass by them and over their heads without receiving the clarity of what God is wanting us to hear.
This challenge to perceptively hear is given by Christ sometimes after He had spoken a parable, referenced the Prophets, or spoken to the Seven Churches in the first three chapters in Revelation.
Listen:“A Still Small Voice”
Elijah, running from the threat of Jezebel to Mt. Horeb (the same mountain God revealed Himself to Moses through the burning bush) is
confronted by God.
1 Kings 19:11–12
… And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in
the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and
after the fire a still small voice.
Matthew 13:9
“He who has ears, let him hear.”
Evidence of God’s Voice has clarification for the Believer through His Word and through His Spirit
Isaiah 30:21
And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. (see context below)

And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. Recognition of what God is Doing (“Yes, this is God’s Voice and God’s direction”)
Romans 8:14
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Confirmation and Action (following through with God’s guidance)
Maturity and Discernment gained by experience
Honest Questions: Why is God prompting me toward this direction?
Adversity: Expect push-back
Healthy discernment and practice: When one continues to follow
God’s promptings, one begins to recognize more and more, when they
are from God.
Hebrews 5:14
But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
Growth & Maturity: God’s Word is full of meaning! We are deepened
through knowing His Word, and gain experience when following it.
Archive Affirmation: Recounting what God has done in the past gives us
assurance.
I – Identify: what is right and what is wrong
Recognizing Growing Pains, and avoiding hazards
Practice: Quality accomplishments are seldom accomplished without diligent “practice,
”so it is with Spiritual Discernment.
Normal Life brings Issues and Blessings: Feet get dirty. Hands need
washing. We become hungry. We need sleep every day…
Proverbs 14:4
Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean, but abundant crops
come by the strength of the ox.
Remember when Jesus washed His disciple’s feet and Peter resisted?
Since we live in a sinful world, even seeking to serve God with our lives, we can often get our feet dirty. Doing the wrong thing, thinking the wrong
things, acting the wrong ways…because we live in a fallen world.
Remember when Jesus began to wash His disciples’ feet and Peter resisted –“I don’t want you to wash my feet!” But Jesus responded, “If I don’t wash your feet, you have no share with Me!”
Then Peter backtracked, “Then wash my hands and my head too!” Again Jesus responded, “If you have had a bath and only your feet are dirty from walking around, that is all that needs to be washed.” (John 13:3-10)
Living Life unravels Faith, Forgiveness, and Fortitude

~ What needs to be strengthened?
What is God using in my life to refine me, to make me more mature and usable in His Service and Kingdom?
Remember God’s goal for you and me is a bit more long range than ours may be right now.
What does He want you and me to be in His Eternal Kingdom?
Revelation 5:9–10
And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”
God’s Eternal Kingdom
Daniel 2:44 (Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream)
And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall
break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever…
Those Serving in God’s Eternal Kingdom
Daniel 7:18
But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the
kingdom forever, forever and ever.’

And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under
the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; his

“The Second Death”
Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the
second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and
they will reign with him for a thousand years.

Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second
death, the lake of fire.
Revelation 2:11
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one
who conquers will not be hurt by the second death.’
Revelation 21:8
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the
sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake
that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
We are being prepared in our life on earth right now for ruling and reigning with Christ
for Eternity.

F – FearGod (Healthy Fear)
There are many References to the Fear of God throughout the Bible. What does it mean to be God-fearing?
Psalm 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!
Abraham offering Isaac evidenced His Fear and Respect for God
Genesis 22:12
He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know
that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from
me.”
The Hebrew Midwives in Egypt Feared God and did not follow Pharaoh’s decree of Infanticide
Exodus 1:17, 21
But the midwives feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded
them, but let the male children live…
And because the midwives feared God, He gave them families.
The God-Fearing Qualities of Job
Job 1:1
1 There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and that man was
blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil.
Qualities Surrounding the Fear of God
Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law in encouraging Moses to broaden the number judges for Israel gave qualifications for Godly leadership, the first one being those who feared God.
Exodus 18:21
Moreover, look for able men from all the people,
men who fear God,
who are trustworthy and
hate a bribe,
and place such men over the people as chiefs of thousands, of hundreds, of
fifties, and of tens.
Accountability to God
Those who Fear God are Accountable to Him and do not take advantage of those unaware of their comments or cannot see their roadblocks.
Leviticus 19:14
You shall not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind, but you
shall fear your God: I am the LORD.
Respect for Elders – in the Fear of God
Leviticus 19:32
“You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and
you shall fear your God: I am the LORD.
1 Timothy 5:1–2
Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father, younger
men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all
purity.
Wronging One Another reveals no Fear of God
Leviticus 25:17
17 You shall not wrong one another, but you shall fear your God, for I am the LORD
your God.
Who is a Wicked Person? One who has no Fear of God.
Psalm 36:1
Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God
before his eyes.
Living as People who are Free
1 Peter 2:16–17
Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but
living as servants of God. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God.
Honor the emperor.
E – Endure
Endurance Reveals Genuine Faith
Matthew 24:7–14 (There are three similar passages as this, in the New
Testament)
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will
be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but the beginning of
the birth pains. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to
death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many
will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false
prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be
increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end
will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the
whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
1 John 2:18–19
Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so
now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they
would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that
they all are not of us.

Romans 7:15–20

within me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh.

१ यूहन्ना २:१५–१७
तुम न तो संसार से और न संसार में की वस्तुओं से प्रेम रखो: यदि कोई संसार से प्रेम रखता है, तो उस में पिता का प्रेम नहीं है। क्योंकि जो
कुछ संसार में है, अर्थात शरीर की अभिलाषा, और आंखों की अभिलाषा और जीविका का घमण्ड, वह पिता की ओर से नहीं, परन्तु संसार ही की ओर से है।
पाप शुरू में आकर्षक, रोमांचक और लुभावना लग सकता है। कुछ समय के लिए वह आनंददायक भी प्रतीत होता है, लेकिन उसका अंतिम परिणाम हमेशा दुख, अपराधबोध, मृत्यु और परमेश्वर के न्याय के रूप में सामने आता है। यीशु मसीह इसी कारण संसार में आए कि वे पाप और मृत्यु की शक्ति को तोड़ दें। जिन्होंने अपने पापों के लिए उनके
बलिदान को विश्वास के साथ स्वीकार किया है, उन्हें वे नया जन्म देते हैं और परमेश्वर के साथ अनन्त जीवन की आशा प्रदान करते हैं।
आज हम इस बात पर विचार करेंगे कि मसीह के द्वारा छुड़ाया गया परमेश्वर का एक बालक ऐसे संसार में, जो पाप और मृत्यु से पूरी तरह भ्रष्ट हो चुका है, कैसे विश्वासयोग्य
जीवन जी सकता है। हम यह भी समझेंगे कि एक विश्वासी कैसे उस स्थिति से बच सकता है, जहाँ वह अपने विश्वास में प्रभावहीन हो जाए, पाप के प्रति असंवेदनशील बन जाए, संसार में इस प्रकार उलझ जाए कि उससे अलग होना कठिन लगे, या फिर पाप के आकर्षण के वश में आ जाए। क्योंकि हमारे भीतर का पुराना स्वभाव अभी भी अपना प्रभुत्व
स्थापित करने का प्रयास करता रहता है।
इसी विषय पर आधारित यह अध्ययन है—“विरोधी संसार में परमेश्वर की संतान।”
सुनो
पहचानो
परमेश्वर का भय मानो
धैर्यपूर्वक बने रहो
L – Listen (सुनो) [ध्यानपूर्वक सुनो]
• Listen (सुनो): “ऐसे कानों से सुनो जो वास्तव में सुनते हैं।”
“जिसके सुनने के कान हों, वह सुन ले।”
परमेश्वर चाहता है कि हम उसके वचन और उसके पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा अपने दैनिक जीवन के लिए उसकी अगुवाई को सुनें। वह हमसे बात करता है ताकि हम उसकी इच्छा को समझें और उसी के अनुसार जीवन बिताएँ।
“जिसके कान हों, वह सुने” — यह विचार पुराने नियम में अनेक बार और नए नियम में लगभग बीस बार मिलता है। इसका अर्थ केवल शब्दों को सुन लेना नहीं है, बल्कि परमेश्वर के सत्य को पहचानना, उसे समझना, स्वीकार करना और अपने जीवन में लागू करना है। बहुत से लोग परमेश्वर का वचन तो सुनते हैं, पर उसका वास्तविक अर्थ और उसके परिणामों पर ध्यान नहीं देते। वे उसे यूँ ही अनसुना कर देते हैं और इस कारण उस स्पष्टता से वंचित रह जाते हैं जो परमेश्वर उन्हें देना चाहता है।
प्रभु यीशु ने भी कई अवसरों पर लोगों को इस प्रकार सुनने की चुनौती दी। कभी उन्होंने दृष्टान्त सुनाने के बाद, कभी भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की बातों का उल्लेख करते समय, और प्रकाशितवाक्य की पहली तीन अध्यायों में सात कलीसियाओं को संबोधित करते हुए बार-बार कहा कि जो सचमुच सुनना चाहता है, वह परमेश्वर के संदेश को ध्यान से सुने, उसे समझे और अपने जीवन में उतारे।

एलिय्याह, रानी ईज़ेबेल की धमकी से बचने के लिए होरेब पर्वत की ओर भाग गया था। यही वह पर्वत था जहाँ परमेश्वर ने जलती हुई झाड़ी के द्वारा मूसा पर अपने आपको प्रकट किया था। वहीं परमेश्वर ने एलिय्याह से भेंट की।
१ राजा १९:११–१२
उसने कहा, निकलकर यहोवा के सम्मुख पर्वत पर खड़ा हो। और यहोवा पास से हो कर चला, और यहोवा के साम्हने एक बड़ी प्रचण्ड आन्धी से पहाड़ फटने और चट्टानें टूटने लगीं, तौभी यहोवा उस आन्धी में न था; फिर आन्धी के बाद भूंईडोल हूआ, तौभी यहोवा उस भूंईडोल में न था। फिर भूंईडोल के बाद आग दिखाई दी, तौभी यहोवा उस आग में न था; फिर आग के बाद एक दबा हुआ धीमा शब्द सुनाईं दिया।

परमेश्वर की आवाज़ का प्रमाण उसके वचन और उसके पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा विश्वासी के लिए स्पष्टता और मार्गदर्शन लेकर आता है।

और चाहे प्रभु तुम्हें विपत्ति की रोटी और दु:ख का जल भी दे, तौभी तुम्हारे उपदेशक फिर न छिपें, और तुम अपनी आंखों से अपने उपदेशकों को देखते रहोगे। और जब कभी तुम दाहिनी वा बाईं ओर मुड़ने लगो, तब तुम्हारे पीछे से यह वचन तुम्हारे कानों में पड़ेगा, मार्ग यही है, इसी पर चलो। तब तुम वह चान्दी जिस से तुम्हारी खुदी हुई मूत्तियां मढ़ी हैं, और वह सोना जिस से तुम्हारी ढली हुई मूत्तियां आभूषित हैं, अशुद्ध करोगे। तुम उन को मैले कुचैले वस्त्र की नाईं फेंक दोगे और कहोगे, दूर हो। और वह तुम्हारे लिये जल बरसाएगा कि तुम खेत में बीज बो सको, और भूमि की उपज भी उत्तम और बहुतायत से होगी। उस समय तुम्हारे जानवरों को लम्बी-चौड़ी चराई मिलेगी।
परमेश्वर क्या कर रहा है, इसे पहचानना — “हाँ, यही परमेश्वर की आवाज़ है और यही उसकी अगुवाई है।”
रोमियों ८:१४
इसलिये कि जितने लोग परमेश्वर के आत्मा के चलाए चलते हैं, वे ही परमेश्वर के पुत्र हैं।

विरोध और कठिनाइयाँ: जब आप परमेश्वर की इच्छा के अनुसार चलेंगे, तो विरोध और चुनौतियों का सामना करने के लिए तैयार रहें।
स्वस्थ आत्मिक विवेक और अभ्यास: जब कोई व्यक्ति लगातार परमेश्वर की अगुवाई का अनुसरण करता है, तो समय के साथ वह और अधिक
स्पष्ट रूप से पहचानने लगता है कि कौन-सी प्रेरणा वास्तव में परमेश्वर की ओर से है।
इब्रानियों ५:१४
पर अन्न सयानों के लिये है, जिन के ज्ञानेन्द्रिय अभ्यास करते करते, भले बुरे में भेद करने के लिये पक्के हो गए हैं॥
विकास और परिपक्वता: परमेश्वर का वचन गहरे अर्थों से भरा हुआ है। जितना अधिक हम उसके वचन को जानते और समझते हैं, उतना ही हमारा आत्मिक जीवन गहरा होता जाता है। जब हम उसके वचन के अनुसार चलते हैं, तो अनुभव के द्वारा हमारी आत्मिक परिपक्वता भी बढ़ती है।
बीते हुए समय में मिली पुष्टि को याद रखना: जब हम स्मरण करते हैं कि परमेश्वर ने अतीत में हमारे लिए क्या-क्या किया है, तो हमारा विश्वास दृढ़ होता है और हमें आगे भी उसकी अगुवाई पर भरोसा रखने का साहस मिलता है।
– Identify (पहचानो): क्या सही है और क्या गलत
आत्मिक विकास के दौरान आने वाली चुनौतियों को पहचानना और खतरों से बचना।
अभ्यास: कोई भी महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि बिना लगातार और मेहनत से किए गए अभ्यास के प्राप्त नहीं होती। ठीक उसी प्रकार आत्मिक विवेक भी नियमित अभ्यास, परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन और उसकी आज्ञाओं का पालन करने से विकसित होता है।
सामान्य जीवन में चुनौतियाँ और आशीष दोनों होती हैं: जैसे हमारे पैर गंदे हो जाते हैं, हाथों को धोने की आवश्यकता पड़ती है, हमें भूख लगती है और प्रतिदिन नींद की ज़रूरत होती है, उसी प्रकार हमारे आत्मिक जीवन को भी प्रतिदिन देखभाल, पोषण और नए बल की आवश्यकता होती है।
नीतिवचन १४:४
जहां बैल नहीं, वहां गौशाला निर्मल तो रहती है, परन्तु बैल के बल से अनाज की बढ़ती होती है।
क्या आपको वह घटना याद है जब यीशु ने अपने चेलों के पैर धोए थे और पतरस ने पहले इसका विरोध किया था?
हम एक पापमय संसार में रहते हैं। इसलिए, चाहे हम अपने जीवन से परमेश्वर की सेवा करने का पूरा प्रयास करें, फिर भी कई बार हमारे “पैर गंदे” हो जाते हैं। अर्थात् हम कभी गलत काम कर बैठते हैं, कभी गलत बातें सोचते हैं, और कभी गलत व्यवहार कर देते हैं। ऐसा इसलिए होता है क्योंकि हम एक पतित संसार में जीवन जी रहे हैं, जहाँ पाप का प्रभाव हर ओर दिखाई देता है।
क्या आपको वह घटना याद है जब यीशु ने अपने चेलों के पैर धोना शुरू किया था और पतरस ने इसका विरोध किया था?
यीशु ने यह जानकर कि पिता ने सब कुछ मेरे हाथ में कर दिया है और मैं परमेश्वर के पास से आया हूं, और परमेश्वर के पास जाता हूं। भोजन पर से उठकर अपने कपड़े उतार दिए, और अंगोछा लेकर अपनी कमर बान्धी। तब बरतन में पानी भरकर चेलों के पांव धोने और जिस अंगोछे से उस की कमर बन्धी थी उसी से पोंछने लगा। जब वह शमौन पतरस के पास आया: तब उस ने उस से कहा, हे प्रभु, क्या तू मेरे पांव धोता है? यीशु ने उस को उत्तर दिया, कि जो मैं करता हूं, तू अब नहीं जानता, परन्तु इस के बाद समझेगा। पतरस ने उस से कहा, तू मेरे पांव कभी न धोने पाएगा: यह सुनकर यीशु ने उस से कहा, यदि मैं तुझे न धोऊं, तो मेरे साथ तेरा कुछ भी साझा नहीं। शमौन पतरस ने उस से कहा, हे प्रभु, तो मेरे पांव ही नहीं, वरन हाथ और सिर भी धो दे। यीशु ने उस से कहा, जो नहा चुका है, उसे पांव के सिवा और कुछ धोने का प्रयोजन नहीं; परन्तु वह बिलकुल शुद्ध है: और तुम शुद्ध हो; परन्तु सब के सब नहीं। (यूहन्ना १३:३–१०)
जीवन जीते-जीते हमारा विश्वास परखा जाता है, हमें क्षमा की आवश्यकता का एहसास होता है, और हमारा धैर्य तथा दृढ़ता विकसित होती है।

परमेश्वर मेरे जीवन में किन परिस्थितियों, अनुभवों या परीक्षाओं का उपयोग कर रहा है ताकि वह मुझे शुद्ध करे, आत्मिक रूप से अधिक परिपक्व बनाए, और अपनी सेवा तथा अपने राज्य के लिए अधिक उपयोगी बनाए? याद रखें, परमेश्वर का उद्देश्य हमारे लिए अक्सर हमारी वर्तमान सोच से कहीं अधिक दूरदर्शी और स्थायी होता है। जहाँ हम प्रायः केवल आज की परिस्थितियों पर ध्यान देते हैं, वहीं परमेश्वर हमें अनन्त दृष्टिकोण से देखता है और उसी के अनुसार हमारे जीवन में कार्य करता है। सोचिए, परमेश्वर चाहता है कि आप और मैं उसके अनन्त राज्य में कैसे व्यक्ति बनें? उसकी इच्छा केवल हमें आज आशीष देना नहीं है, बल्कि हमें ऐसा बनाना है जो अनन्तकाल तक उसके साथ रहने और उसकी महिमा के लिए उपयोगी हो।

फ. – परमेश्वर का भय मानो [पवित्र और आदरपूर्ण भय]
बाइबल में परमेश्वर के भय के विषय में अनेक स्थानों पर उल्लेख किया गया है। परमेश्वर का भय मानने वाला होना वास्तव में क्या अर्थ रखता है?
भजन संहिता १११:१०
बुद्धि का मूल यहोवा का भय है; जितने उसकी आज्ञाओं को मानते हैं, उनकी बुद्धि अच्छी होती है। उसकी स्तुति सदा बनी रहेगी॥
इसहाक को अर्पित करने के लिए अब्राहम की तत्परता ने परमेश्वर के प्रति उसके भय और आदर को प्रकट किया।
उत्पत्ति २२:१२
उसने कहा, उस लड़के पर हाथ मत बढ़ा, और न उससे कुछ कर: क्योंकि तू ने जो मुझ से अपने पुत्र,
वरन अपने एकलौते पुत्र को भी, नहीं रख छोड़ा; इस से मैं अब जान गया कि तू परमेश्वर का भय मानता है।
मिस्र की इब्रानी दाइयों ने परमेश्वर का भय माना और फिरौन के उस आदेश का पालन नहीं किया,
जिसमें इब्रानी नवजात लड़कों की हत्या करने को कहा गया था।

परन्तु वे धाइयां परमेश्वर का भय मानती थीं, इसलिये मिस्र के राजा की आज्ञा न मानकर लड़कों को भी

तो ऐसा क्यों करती हो? धाइयों ने फिरौन को उतर दिया, कि इब्री स्त्रियां मिस्री स्त्रियों के समान नहीं हैं; वे ऐसी
फुर्तीली हैं कि धाइयों के पहुंचने से पहिले ही उन को बच्चा उत्पन्न हो जाता है। इसलिये परमेश्वर ने धाइयों के साथ
भलाई की; और वे लोग बढ़कर बहुत सामर्थी हो गए। और धाइयां इसलिये कि वे परमेश्वर का भय मानती थीं
उसने उनके घर बसाए।
अय्यूब के जीवन में परमेश्वर का भय मानने वाले गुण
अय्यूब १:१
ऊज़ देश में अय्यूब नाम एक पुरुष था; वह खरा और सीधा था और परमेश्वर का भय मानता और बुराई से परे रहता था।
परमेश्वर का भय मानने वालों के गुण
जब मूसा के ससुर यित्रो ने इस्राएल के लिए न्याय करने वाले लोगों की संख्या बढ़ाने की सलाह दी, तब उन्होंने परमेश्वरभक्त अगुवों के लिए कुछ योग्यताएँ बताईं। उन योग्यताओं में सबसे पहली यह
थी कि वे ऐसे लोग हों जो परमेश्वर का भय मानते हों।
निर्गमन १८:२१
फिर तू इन सब लोगों में से ऐसे पुरूषों को छांट ले, जो गुणी, और परमेश्वर का भय मानने वाले, सच्चे,
और अन्याय के लाभ से घृणा करने वाले हों; और उन को हज़ार-हज़ार, सौ-सौ, पचास-पचास, और
दस-दस मनुष्यों पर प्रधान नियुक्त कर दे।
परमेश्वर के प्रति जवाबदेही
जो लोग परमेश्वर का भय मानते हैं, वे स्वयं को उसके प्रति जवाबदेह समझते हैं। इसलिए वे कभी भी दूसरों की अनभिज्ञता का लाभ नहीं उठाते और न ही उनकी राह में ऐसी बाधाएँ खड़ी करते हैं
जिन्हें वे देख या समझ नहीं सकते।
लैव्यव्यवस्था १९:१४
बहिरे को शाप न देना, और न अन्धे के आगे ठोकर रखना;
और अपने परमेश्वर का भय मानना; मैं यहोवा हूं।
परमेश्वर का भय मानते हुए बड़ों का आदर करना

पक्के बाल वाले के साम्हने उठ खड़े होना, और बूढ़े का
आदरमान करना, और अपने परमेश्वर का भय निरन्तर मानना; मैं यहोवा हूं।

किसी बूढ़े को न डांट; पर उसे पिता जान कर समझा दे, और जवानों को भाई

एक-दूसरे के साथ अन्याय करना यह प्रकट करता है कि मनुष्य में परमेश्वर का भय नहीं है।
लैव्यव्यवस्था २५:१७
और तुम अपने अपने भाईबन्धु पर अन्धेर न करना; अपने परमेश्वर का भय मानना;
मैं तुम्हारा परमेश्वर यहोवा हूं।
दुष्ट व्यक्ति कौन है? वह जिसके मन में परमेश्वर का भय नहीं है।

दुष्ट जन का अपराध मेरे हृदय के भीतर यह कहता है कि परमेश्वर का भय

स्वतंत्र लोगों के समान जीवन जीना
१ पतरस २:१६–१७
और अपने आप को स्वतंत्र जानो पर अपनी इस स्वतंत्रता को बुराई के लिये आड़ न बनाओ,
परन्तु अपने आप को परमेश्वर के दास समझ कर चलो। सब का आदर करो, भाइयों से प्रेम रखो,
परमेश्वर से डरो, राजा का सम्मान करो॥

धैर्य और दृढ़ता सच्चे विश्वास को प्रकट करते हैं।

क्योंकि जाति पर जाति, और राज्य पर राज्य चढ़ाई करेगा, और जगह जगह अकाल पड़ेंगे,
और भुईंडोल होंगे। ये सब बातें पीड़ाओं का आरम्भ होंगी। तब वे क्लेश दिलाने के लिये तुम्हें

तब बहुतेरे ठोकर खाएंगे, और एक दूसरे से बैर रखेंगे। और बहुत से झूठे भविष्यद्वक्ता उठ खड़े होंगे,
और बहुतों को भरमाएंगे। और अधर्म के बढ़ने से बहुतों का प्रेम ठण्डा हो जाएगा। परन्तु जो अन्त तक
धीरज धरे रहेगा, उसी का उद्धार होगा। और राज्य का यह सुसमाचार सारे जगत में प्रचार किया जाएगा,
कि सब जातियों पर गवाही हो, तब अन्त आ जाएगा॥
१ यूहन्ना २:१८–१९
हे लड़कों, यह अन्तिम समय है, और जैसा तुम ने सुना है, कि मसीह का विरोधी आने वाला है,
उसके अनुसार अब भी बहुत से मसीह के विरोधी उठे हैं; इस से हम जानते हैं, कि यह अन्तिम समय है।
वे निकले तो हम ही में से, पर हम में के थे नहीं; क्योंकि यदि हम में के होते, तो हमारे साथ रहते, पर निकल
इसलिये गए कि यह प्रगट हो कि वे सब हम में के नहीं हैं।
रोमियों ५:३–५
केवल यही नहीं, वरन हम क्लेशों में भी घमण्ड करें, यही जानकर कि क्लेश से धीरज।
ओर धीरज से खरा निकलना, और खरे निकलने से आशा उत्पन्न होती है। और आशा
से लज्ज़ा नहीं होती, क्योंकि पवित्र आत्मा जो हमें दिया गया है उसके द्वारा परमेश्वर का
प्रेम हमारे मन में डाला गया है।
२ तीमुथियुस २:११–१२
यह बात सच है, कि यदि हम उसके साथ मर गए हैं तो उसके साथ जीएंगे भी।
यदि हम धीरज से सहते रहेंगे, तो उसके साथ राज्य भी करेंगे: यदि हम उसका इन्कार
करेंगे तो वह भी हमारा इन्कार करेगा।
२ थिस्सलुनीकियों १:४
यहां तक कि हम आप परमेश्वर की कलीसिया में तुम्हारे विषय में घमण्ड करते हैं,
कि जितने उपद्रव और क्लेश तुम सहते हो, उन सब में तुम्हारा धीरज और विश्वास प्रगट होता है।

प्रगट होगा, अपने निमित क्रोध कमा रहा है। वह हर एक को उसके कामों के अनुसार बदला देगा।
जो सुकर्म में स्थिर रहकर महिमा, और आदर, और अमरता की खोज में है, उन्हें वह अनन्त जीवन देगा।

इस विरोधी संसार में परमेश्वर की संतान के सामने आने वाले आध्यात्मिक खतरे
हमारा पुराना स्वभाव (शारीरिक प्रकृति)
रोमियों ७:१५–२०
और जो मैं करता हूं, उस को नहीं जानता, क्योंकि जो मैं चाहता हूं, वह नहीं किया करता,
परन्तु जिस से मुझे घृणा आती है, वही करता हूं। और यदि, जो मैं नहीं चाहता वही करता हूं,
तो मैं मान लेता हूं, कि व्यवस्था भली है। तो ऐसी दशा में उसका करने वाला मैं नहीं, वरन पाप है,
जो मुझ में बसा हुआ है। क्योंकि मैं जानता हूं, कि मुझ में अर्थात मेरे शरीर में कोई अच्छी वस्तु वास
नहीं करती, इच्छा तो मुझ में है, परन्तु भले काम मुझ से बन नहीं पड़ते। क्योंकि जिस अच्छे काम की
मैं इच्छा करता हूं, वह तो नहीं करता, परन्तु जिस बुराई की इच्छा नहीं करता वही किया करता हूं।
परन्तु यदि मैं वही करता हूं, जिस की इच्छा नहीं करता, तो उसका करने वाला मैं न रहा, परन्तु पाप
जो मुझ में बसा हुआ है।
कुलुस्सियों ३:५–६
इसलिये अपने उन अंगो को मार डालो, जो पृथ्वी पर हैं, अर्थात व्यभिचार, अशुद्धता, दुष्कामना, बुरी लालसा
और लोभ को जो मूर्ति पूजा के बराबर है। इन ही के कारण परमेश्वर का प्रकोप आज्ञा न मानने वालों पर पड़ता है।
गलातियों ५:२४
और जो मसीह यीशु के हैं, उन्होंने शरीर को उस की लालसाओं और अभिलाषाओं समेत क्रूस पर चढ़ा दिया है॥
पीढ़ी-दर-पीढ़ी चले आने वाले पाप — अर्थात् वे पापपूर्ण प्रवृत्तियाँ और आदतें जो एक पीढ़ी से दूसरी पीढ़ी तक चली आती हैं।
निर्गमन २०:३–६
तू मुझे छोड़ दूसरों को ईश्वर करके न मानना॥ तू अपने लिये कोई मूर्ति खोदकर न बनाना, न किसी कि प्रतिमा बनाना,
जो आकाश में, वा पृथ्वी पर, वा पृथ्वी के जल में है। तू उन को दण्डवत न करना, और न उनकी उपासना करना;
क्योंकि मैं तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा जलन रखने वाला ईश्वर हूं, और जो मुझ से बैर रखते है, उनके बेटों, पोतों, और परपोतों
को भी पितरों का दण्ड दिया करता हूं, और जो मुझ से प्रेम रखते और मेरी आज्ञाओं को मानते हैं, उन हजारों पर करूणा
किया करता हूं॥
निर्गमन ३४:६–७
और यहोवा उसके साम्हने हो कर यों प्रचार करता हुआ चला, कि यहोवा, यहोवा, ईश्वर दयालु और अनुग्रहकारी,
कोप करने में धीरजवन्त, और अति करूणामय और सत्य,7 हजारों पीढिय़ों तक निरन्तर करूणा करने वाला, अधर्म
और अपराध और पाप का क्षमा करने वाला है, परन्तु दोषी को वह किसी प्रकार निर्दोष न ठहराएगा, वह पितरों के
अधर्म का दण्ड उनके बेटों वरन पोतों और परपोतों को भी देने वाला है।
यिर्मयाह ३२:१७–१८
हे प्रभु यहोवा, तू ने बड़े सामर्थ और बढ़ाई हुई भुजा से आकाश और पृथ्वी को बनाया है! तेरे लिये कोई काम कठिन
नहीं है। तू हजारों पर करुणा करता रहता परन्तु पूर्वजों के अधर्म का बदला उनके बाद उनके वंष के लोगों को भी देता है,
हे महान और पराक्रमी परमेश्वर, जिसका नाम सेनाओं का यहोवा है,
दानिय्येल ९:१६
हे प्रभु, हमारे पापों और हमारे पुरखाओं के अधर्म के कामों के कारण यरूशलेम की और तेरी प्रजा की, और
हमारे आस पास के सब लोगों की ओर से नामधराई हो रही है; तौभी तू अपने सब धर्म के कामों के कारण
अपना क्रोध और जलजलाहट अपने नगर यरूशलेम पर से उतार दे, जो तेरे पवित्र पर्वत पर बसा है।

तू किसी के घर का लालच न करना; न तो किसी की स्त्री का लालच करना, और न किसी के दास-दासी, वा
बैल गदहे का, न किसी की किसी वस्तु का लालच करना॥
यहोशू ७:२०–२१
और आकान ने यहोशू को उत्तर दिया, कि सचमुच मैं ने इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा के विरुद्ध पाप किया है,
और इस प्रकार मैं ने किया है, कि जब मुझे लूट में शिनार देश का एक सुन्दर ओढ़ना, और दो सौ शेकेल चांदी,
और पचास शेकेल सोने की एक ईंट देख पड़ी, तब मैं ने उनका लालच करके उन्हें रख लिया; वे मेरे डेरे के भीतर
भूमि में गड़े हैं, और सब के नीचे चांदी है।

परन्तु मैं तुम से यह कहता हूं, कि जो कोई किसी स्त्री पर कुदृष्टि डाले वह अपने मन में उस से व्यभिचार कर चुका।
रोमियों १:२९–३१
सो वे सब प्रकार के अधर्म, और दुष्टता, और लोभ, और बैरभाव, से भर गए; और डाह, और हत्या, और झगड़े, और छल,
और ईर्षा से भरपूर हो गए, और चुगलखोर, बदनाम करने वाले, परमेश्वर के देखने में घृणित, औरों का अनादर करने वाले,
अभिमानी, डींगमार, बुरी बुरी बातों के बनाने वाले, माता पिता की आज्ञा न मानने वाले। निर्बुद्धि, विश्वासघाती, मायारिहत और निर्दय हो गए।
लूका १२:१५
और उस ने उन से कहा, चौकस रहो, और हर प्रकार के लोभ से अपने आप को बचाए रखो: क्योंकि किसी का जीवन उस
की संपत्ति की बहुतायत से नहीं होता।
हमारा छलपूर्ण अभिमान
याकूब ४:६–८
वह तो और भी अनुग्रह देता है; इस कारण यह लिखा है, कि परमेश्वर अभिमानियों से विरोध करता है,
पर दीनों पर अनुग्रह करता है। इसलिये परमेश्वर के आधीन हो जाओ; और शैतान का साम्हना करो,
तो वह तुम्हारे पास से भाग निकलेगा। परमेश्वर के निकट आओ, तो वह भी तुम्हारे निकट आएगा:
हे पापियों, अपने हाथ शुद्ध करो; और हे दुचित्ते लोगों अपने हृदय को पवित्र करो।
१ पतरस ५:५
हे नवयुवकों, तुम भी प्राचीनों के आधीन रहो, वरन तुम सब के सब एक दूसरे की सेवा के लिये
दीनता से कमर बान्धे रहो, क्योंकि परमेश्वर अभिमानियों का साम्हना करता है,
परन्तु दीनों पर अनुग्रह करता है।
भजन संहिता १०:४
दुष्ट अपने अभिमान के कारण कहता है कि वह लेखा नहीं लेने का; उसका पूरा विचार
यही है कि कोई परमेश्वर है ही नहीं॥
नीतिवचन ८:१३
यहोवा का भय मानना बुराई से बैर रखना है। घमण्ड, अंहकार, और बुरी चाल से,
और उलट फेर की बात से भी मैं बैर रखती हूं।

विनाश से पहिले गर्व, और ठोकर खाने से पहिले घमण्ड होता है।
नीतिवचन २९:२३
मनुष्य को गर्व के कारण नीचा देखना पड़ता है, परन्तु नम्र आत्मा वाला
महिमा का अधिकारी होता है।
यशायाह २:१७
और मनुष्य का गर्व मिटाया जाएगा, और मनुष्यों का घमण्ड नीचा किया जाएगा;
और उस दिन केवल यहोवा ही ऊंचे पर विराजमान रहेगा।
२ तीमुथियुस ३:२–५
क्योंकि मनुष्य अपस्वार्थी, लोभी, डींगमार, अभिमानी, निन्दक, माता-पिता की
आज्ञा टालने वाले, कृतघ्न, अपवित्र। दयारिहत, क्षमारिहत, दोष लगाने वाले,
असंयमी, कठोर, भले के बैरी। विश्वासघाती, ढीठ, घमण्डी, और परमेश्वर के नहीं
वरन सुखविलास ही के चाहने वाले होंगे। वे भक्ति का भेष तो धरेंगे, पर उस की
शक्ति को न मानेंगे; ऐसों से परे रहना।
१ पतरस ५:५
हे नवयुवकों, तुम भी प्राचीनों के आधीन रहो, वरन तुम सब के सब एक दूसरे की सेवा
के लिये दीनता से कमर बान्धे रहो, क्योंकि परमेश्वर अभिमानियों का साम्हना करता है,

रोमियों १२:२
और इस संसार के सदृश न बनो; परन्तु तुम्हारी बुद्धि के नये हो जाने से तुम्हारा चाल-चलन
भी बदलता जाए, जिस से तुम परमेश्वर की भली, और भावती, और सिद्ध इच्छा अनुभव
से मालूम करते रहो॥
